Playing with toys

Hey everyone.
Okay, we all know that I haven't posted in a while. I could tell you why, but I am trying to not involve my personal life in the blog as much as I used to. The long and short is that I was busy. Some of it had to do with boats, but not all of it. Sorry about that: I get distracted.

However, if you want to know about something cool I did, I have put some photos up. I have a lot of smart people and cool technology around me, so I decided to enter one of our internal competitions (we do this for fun sometimes). This one was themed "self portrait."

I made me an action figure with a little help from my friends Craig and Stephen. The parts are made with various futuristic machines and then hand painted by me.

Enjoy.

Back of the final package

Front of the final.
Before anyone asks: we used a Kinect to scan me with IR. Then Craig stitched the model together and sent me an STL. I used an Objet (who we call Eve) to print me. I made a die-line for the package and Stephen handled all of the images and copy. I made the molded plastic of the package too.

I won the competition.

Back to the boats.
